Shugo Chara!

New page

''"All kids hold an egg in their soul.''
''"The egg of our hearts, our would-be selves...''
                ''"Yet unseen..."''

All children have dreams. These dreams, if strong enough, can take shape into a spirit-egg inside a child's heart. And if a child wishes for and believes in their dream enough, this Heart's Egg can be born. And when it is, the egg can hatch into a mascot of sorts, into a tiny vision of the person that the child would like to grow up to be.

These little mascots are called "Guardian Characters", and are only seen by others with them -- Character Bearers, or "Chara Bearers" for short -- and those with pure hearts. Chara Bearers can accomplish great things together with the Guardian Characters -- the "Shugo Charas" -- acting as their personal muses. Sometimes a Bearer even has more than one, though this is quite rare, and generally only happens in instances where a child strongly believes in more than one path.

But not all Guardian Characters are created equal. Unbeknownst to all but a few, one of these Heart's Eggs is special. The Embryo is a special Heart's Egg with the power to grant the wishes of anyone who holds it. It should come as no surprise that most who know abou the Embryo want it. And some people are willing to go great distances to get it.

The Easter Corporation is, for all appearances, a normal corporation that owns quite a few side-businesses. But in actuality, they know another fact of the Heart's Eggs. When a child gives up on a dream strong enough to make a Heart's Egg, it becomes corrupted and dark. It becomes and X-Egg. But in those X-Eggs, Easter finds power in its search for the Embryo.

The only ones who can really stand against them are the Guardians, a group of school-age children with Guardian Characters. Can these elementary-school kids really hope to stand against the Easter Corporation without help...?
