Hand-to-Hand Combat: Kirk is a skilled hand to hand combatant, possessing a very personal style of combat that mixed standard Starfleet Martial Arts, Judo, Boxing and Wrestling moves along with unorthodox Barroom Brawling skills. This idiosyncratic mix allowed Kirk to become assistant instructor in advanced hand-to-hand combat during his days at Starfleet Academy.

Melee Combat: Always eager to increase his repertoire of combat skills, Kirk has trained with various melee weapons such as the Vulcan Lirpa, the Andorian Ushaan-tor as well as lessons in fencing and kenjutsu from Lt. Hikaru Sulu.

Starship Command: Captain James T. Kirk is a gifted starship commander, capable of exceptional tactical awareness and analysis of situations and how to make the best use of his skills and those of his crew in unexpected situations. As stated numerous times, he doesn't believe in the 'No Win Scenario' and is more than willing to bend, twist and break the rules in order to achieve his goals.
