The doors to the arcade open, and in steps the slightly spikey haired red-head known as Robin Caldworth. "And this... is the arcade. A magical realm that is actually still really difficult for me to describe... Okay, it's not actually magical..." He trails off as he looks over to a racing game with an out of order sign on it. He nods grimly once, then looks back to the... girl? Yes, girl he walked in with with a smile. "But I sure as hells can't explain how any of this works!"

Danny peers around in no small amount of intrest. At this point it's likely she at least has the modern clothes to not stand out QUITE as bad. A backward's cap is used to keep her already short hair looking even less present. She's also in a pair of oversized jeans that generally look like they threaten to trip her, a pair of sneakers, and an also oversized looking hoodie that's zipped shut. "I can tell televisions are involved," she states, "But these don't look real like what was on the other televisions...."

Robin grins and shakes his head. "Nope! Totally not real on these! But the good part is... you get to control what is on them!" He points over to a Tetris machine, incidentally the first game he played himself. "Think of these as kind of like really complex card or board games." He motions for Danny to follow, moving over to the machine and pulling out a game card that he sometimes recharges when he comes here. Why no, he's not attempted to get a game system of his own just yet.

Danny blinks curiously and follows after Robin. Curious as she's been about everything, her childhood friend requires almost no effort at all to get her to follow him to one of the machines. "Controling it? Electricity really does sound more and more like a magical thing..."

Robin nods enthusiastically. "I know, right? But it's not! I mean... I have a friend that I think would be horrified if she heard you say that... she... doesn't like magic. Apparently it's been really bad for her universe." He taps the screen as it's on a demo as he tries to remember how it was explained to him. "This is what they call 'attract' mode. See, it shows you basically how to play and is supposed to make you want to play it, and such." He looks back to the screen at the folling blocks and explains, "This game is more of a puzzle type game. See, you move the blocks with this, and then these rotate them around. The idea is to get them to completely fill a line, and you get more points the more lines you fill at once. It speeds up as you go, and if the blocks get all the way up to the top, the game is over."

Danny blinks a little at that. "Hating magic seems so...counter productive. If it's bad, isn't that because of who used it or how it's used?" Granted even that's possibly a progressive way of thinking, given where they came from. "Huh, that seems like a strange concept...I suppose it does look fun though."

Robin nods a couple of times. "That's... kind of what I tried to tell her. I think she accepts that for here, but she still insists that all magic in her world was evil." He slides his play card into the machine. "You want to give it a try? Then we can try some of the more action oriented ones, if you want."

Danny cracks her knuckles and stretches her arms out a little. "Alright. I think I will try, yeah," she answers before moving into place at the machine. She's expectedly clumsy, given this is her first time even SEEING a video game, but she at least has enough concept of fitting things into spaces as tightly as possible that it's not looking like a bad first try...

Robin silently watches, not wanting to break her concentration on it. He nods approvingly, not having been any better on his first try, either. But of course, inevitably, the speed starts picking up in the game before long...

Danny becomes FAR more clumsy when the speed picks up. "Ahhh, that's no---no I mea---that's not a line!" She stammers off half finished statements as mistake after mistake piles up...to the top of the screen.

As the game ends, the 'curtain' falls down. "Not bad," says Robin. "No worse than I did on my first attempt. Do you want to see the other games, or try to get a better handle on this one?" he asks, looking around again. He's certainly had some memories here, including that time someone he was playing a game with found her old boss as a playable character... and of course the fight that happened just a week ago.

Danny raises a brow thoughtfully. "Let's try the other things," she decides, "This one seems fun, but it looks like there's a lot in here."

Robin nods enthusiastically. "Soooo, you can play games that are racing those horseless carriages against each other, or the other really popular ones are people fighting each other, or stuff that's like dancing or just hitting things to the beat of the music." He motions out to the various machines as he mentions them.

Danny tilts her head some. "I guess the horseless carriages. I'm not really any good at dancing and...beating people as amusement seems....odd."

Robin shakes his head. "Think of it like sparring! Also, I think they usually have storylines, but I have a hard time following them. I think they expect you to know more from outside the game or something.... I don't know. But racing, sure!" He looks over to the out of order machines. "Those were... apparently good? ...but someone was using them to drain people's life energy. So we'll have to go for the less... complete experience ones." He looks away from the out of order racing pods towards the more traditional just seat with steering wheel in front of a TV screen style racing machines. "All right, let's race, Danny!" He leads the way, and thankfully the racing games aren't that popular at the moment, so the two don't have to wait in any lines to get in. "I've not actually played any of these, so I'm gonna be as new to this as you are... but I know you turn left or right with the wheel, and the pedals make you start and stop." He slips the card in to pay for a game on two of the machines(which are linked, of course, so they can race against each other). Sitting down, he smirks up at Danny again. "So it'll be a race around the track. Just like the races around the village as kids."

Danny gives a nod as she sits in the other seat. "That sounds surprisingly simple," she states, "Simpler than actual horse riding even." She settles in and fiddles idly with the controls, trying to adjust to the feel of using them.

And soon... the game actually starts up, asking them to select their vehicles, and automatic or manual. "Oh... and pick automatic. I was told that was easier for beginners." The vehicle selection of course has lots of stats, which even Robin looks lost by. "Uhhhh.. I have no idea about what differences the different cars have." So he just picks the one he thinks looks coolest and declares himself ready to go by hitting the gas.

Danny blinks and tilts her head over all the details in the car choosing. She then shrugs and chooses by color. Totally unimportant, but it gets the choice made. She follows Robin's example and hits the gas too.

The counter goes down... 3, 2, 1, Go! Robin hits the gas then, the car racing out of the gate!

Danny's surprizingly good at keeping up here, but probably only due to the fact that Robin has very little to no knowledge advantage on her in this case. She's not winning any races, but it's not a total loss either.

Predictably, the two come in near the back of the pack... while they did start to pick it up, of course there was that initial poor start to overcome. "All right! That was an expensive one, though, so... I'd need to put more money on this game card if we're going to play any more. You can buy games for home systems or something, but I don't have any of the stuff for that," he says as he steps off the machine, frowning ever so slightly. "But... yeah, you've witnessed the glory of the arcade now! So... the next question is, where do we go from here?"

Danny tilts her head some. "Well, you showed me that mall place and this place," She murmurs, "Is there any other places you like?"

Robin leans against the wall and looks up. "Well... lemme think. There's a 'spaceport', but I've not been there yet myself. But that should be pretty high tech stuff, right? When I came in, I saw a bunch of really big armors at the wall... that place is at the edge of where stuff is really, really dangerous, though... you know, why they have the robot armors there to begin with and all..." He trails off, with a frown. "How... how have things been back home, anyway? After I left?" His frown deepens slightly. "Did anyone even care when I left, beyond just losing a farm worker?"

Danny says, "Well of course I cared. Ma' and pa' were irritated for a while. Some of the other folk our age missed you for a while, but they moved on fast enough... Honestly most the town is so up it's own rear they probably only cared much once the monsters and bandits started showing up more. ...those got taken care of though, no worries."

Robin's frown lessens somewhat as he hears that some people did, at least. He does look alarmed when Danny brings up the monsters and bandits, but that of course is releived soon enough. "Oh, I'm guessing they got some outside help... Or they weren't that tough of monsters. Then again, I always thought there were some druids or elves out in those woods somewhere that just avoided us... they didn't show up, did they?"

Danny shakes her head. "We took care of it ourselves. ...well more like one of us did and the rest barely even helped."

Robin laughs once and shakes his head. "Oh, man... sounds about right. 'Farming's good enough for us. Don't worry about all that fighting stuff. We've got pitchforks and axes, we can deal with anything around these parts!'" He looks slightly disgusted, but still is worried about his family. "I'm guessing it was someone that came to town after I left, then, that did all the fighting?"

Danny looks like she's having think fairly hard about this for SOME reason. "You could SAY that..." she murmurs, "More like something..."

Robin pauses a moment, then ventures a guess. "A friendly dragon? That'd be... really good. They'd not have to worry much at all, as long as they can keep him or her fed somehow..."

Danny shakes her head. "Nah, that would have been arguably more useful though," she replies before wincing and giving her own side a little smack.

Robin lowers an eyebrow as he sees the wince and self-smack. "Um... okay? What happened, did you get in their way or something?" he asks, trying to figure out why Danny would be making that response.

Danny says, "Smink just got a bit bitey when I said that..." Seems she's smuggling the weasle again..."

Robin looks confused again, then down at where Danny smacked herself. "...You brought her in with you? Honestly, I'm surprised she's not bitten you before when we were racing. Not really like animals to enjoy being... stuffed into clothing, from what I've seen, yeah?"

Danny says, "Yeah, but I usually don't have much choice with her continually threatening to eat Ace. Besides, she's smart enough to understand. ...just took offense to that dragon comment."

Robin blinks at that. Twice. "Huh? She is? But she's... a weasil." He peers down at the location in question on Danny again. "...but that does suggest that Smink is responsible for defending the village against bandits and monsters?"

Danny nods in reply as she crosses her arms. "Yeah, it sounds weird, but that's basically the case...." So a weasel defeated bandits and monsters? "I found her during an incident that made me fall into a cave and she followed me home..."

Robin keeps an eye on where he thinks Smink is. "Well... I guess they weren't very big monsters, then? And you must be a lot tougher than you look, Smink." He pauses a moment, then asks, "...Was this cave about a mile out, almost due east of my family's farm?"

Danny nods in reply to Robin. "Durring one of the monster incidents some of the farm animals got loose and I chased some of them down there...ended up falling in instead of getting those ones home, but thankfully ma' and pa' picked up the slack.

Robin blinks. "Falling? The entrance I found was one I could just walk into... I never saw an entrance from above to fall in..." He pauses, looking up, then back at Danny's face again. "Then again. I didn't look past where I found Gnistra and that amulet."

Danny says, "Yeah....they got a ways in there...before I could catch up."

Robin says, "But... about the amulet and Gnistra... Gnistra is the sword I can use when I'm, uh... in the form I first came across you here as... The amulet being what let me transform to begin with, I think." He grips above the center of his chest. "I can always feel it here, even if others can't seem to." It seems wheels are turning in his head. "So... Smink... do you, by any chance... know a fox named Runa?""

Smink peers out of the hoodie at Robin. It's hard to call that an afirmative or not. However, the way Danny's now getting all figedty and looking at everything BUT Robin or Smink is pretty telling.

Robin pauses a moment before asking, "So... do you transform, too?"

Robin says, "...Was there a weapon in there, as well?""

Danny clears her throat and nods in reply. Deeeeeeeffffffineeeetly looking no where near Robin now as she pulls a well hidden whip handle slightly from her clothing.

Robin blinks at that. "....are you transformed now? I can't even access Gnistra unless I've transformed."

Danny shakes her head. "Oooh no, no no, I'm about as easy to tell apart as you are... Possibly more. At least you still look like some kind of warrior..."

Robin frowns at that and gives Danny a blank look. "Really? More easy to tell apart than me having hair that reaches nearly to my knees, wearing that rediculous skirt, and, oh, let's not forget the whole gender swap thing?" He then then laughs. "Of course, even I don't have much on La Pucelle, I guess." In the end he smirks and lifts up a hand to head height, gripping his fist in a victorious pose of power, somewhat. "But hey, now I really wanna see it!"

Danny shifts and blushes a bit. "Of course you would want to see it when I say something like that," she mutters, "And yes, even as a girl you look like someone a person can trust to protect them..."

Robin blinks and lowers an eyebrow. "Is... is it that bad? Really? I mean... how could it... what?" After her reaction, he doesn't want to say that this just makes him want to see it even more... but it really does make him want to see it more!

Danny says, "I guess if anyone deserves to see it, it's you..." She gives a little sigh, "I guess we can...go somewhere?"

Robin glances left and right, then nods. "Of course, Danny. There are some decent back alleys around here, they're usually abandoned." He motions with his head to the door. "Let's get out of here, yeah?" he says finally at a volume that most would consider a normal conversational tone... at least for an arcade.

Danny is still blushing as he wonders out along with him. Jeeze. It'd be her first time actually SHOWING someone her other form. Sure, the village has seen it a few times, but they didn't know it was her. And now it's Robin of all people that's figured her out. ...then agian at least it IS Robin...

Robin leads the two on outside, then quickly ducks back into an alleyway. He looks around to make sure there's no one in the alleyway, then nods to Danny. "Okay, you first or me, then?"

Danny tilts her head a little. "You," she wonders, "I saw your other self." She gives a little sigh and brings Smink out. "Don't sass me, it's not like I usually use this for anything but emergancies," she insists at the weasle with a glare. With that she performs her transformation, becoming HIGHLY different looking than her close to androgynus looking appearance.

Here is a rather girly magical girl, but then arenft most magical girls girly? She has very light, almost white, blonde hair that is extremely thick and long, to a point itfs hard to imagine shefs ever cut it in her life. It flows down all the way to her ankles in the back where it hangs loose, but is still so thick that there are two, large, thick braids hanging over her shoulders, tying together over her chest, where her hair is adorned with large white and black flowers, beyond that her hair hangs loosely to just past her breasts. If that wasnft already ENOUGH hair, there are also two thin, black bow adorned braids that hang loosely from the top sides of her head and end at her breasts. Another, even larger white flower rests at the top of her head.

Her green eyed, lightly make uped face is framed by the way her hair is braided in front, much like her eyes are framed by a pair of black glasses. A black cape hangs loosely about her neck, with white flower designs on it, and it ends just a little above the ankles. Under the cape is a white, sleeveless dress that has a bit of trim starting under the breasts and down to just over the top of the hips that matches with the cape and semi circles around the back, leaving the front of her midriff area still covered in a white dress. Further down, somewhere a little past where her bottom would end, the dress reveals a lower layer to itself that is black and, not only designed with the white flower patterns, but with white bows and white lace at its bottom, which lands only slightly higher than her cape.

She has black, detached sleeves with the same white flower pattern on them. These hang down as long as the dress and have white lace down along its outer edges. The bottom of the sleeves are tied off with a white bow. Her boots are black with a very loose top to them that folds down, hanging just over a black trim above the ankles that has white lace above and below it, and they are shaped in a high heel sort of way on the actual foot, being very thin at the toes and actually having long, thin heels. Finally, somewhere in her possession, is a simple looking whip with yellow wrapping on the handle, a white chicken, and a black weasel wearing a yellow ribbon around its neck.

Robin reaches up to grab at the air just in front of his chest, then blinks as Danny transforms first. "Ooookay, I meant just now, but... Wow. Yeah, you look... not yourself," he quips. He walks around Danny looking her over. "Even a cape, huh? Doesn't that... get in the way? I know the bow on my back feels like it's on the edge of getting in the way for me, too... and we can both agree about the hair, I'm guessing." Well, he's seen enough magical girls transforming that he's far from awestruck by this, though.

Danny frowns and nods in agreement, grasping and rubbing at her hair awkwardly. "I'm supposed to fight like this... I kind of manage, but it's a bit difficult."

Robin smirks and grips his fist in front of himself again. "Yeah, but when you fight, doesn't it just kinda... come to you on how to compensate for it? When it came down to it, I never have had any trouble with my hair."

Danny gives a little nod. "Well yes...still feels very awkward though. Not like me at all..."

Robin nods once. "It doesn't look like you, either. I wonder if that's the point?" He steps back to lean against the wall of the alleyway. "I didn't feel like I was me when I first got the powers, either..." He glances upward a second before adding, "I guess that's changed. I got used to it for the sake of the power pretty quickly. I'm getting used to it for the sake of... just being now, as well."

Danny says, "...I can't imagine it but, maybe I'll feel better if I use it more often..."

Robin looks back down with a frown, then stands up properly again and walks over.... to poke at the flower on top of her head. "Okay, the flower on top of your head is a bit ridiculous, though."

Danny blushes and chuckles a little at the same time. "Don't I know it?"

Robin blinks at the response. "Wait... you didn't... feel that, did you?" After all, he grew a new set of body parts.

Danny tilts her head. "Feel what?"

Robin pokes at the flower again.

Danny peers upward at the poking. "The flower? No, that's just a decoration."

Robin nods. "Okay, figured it was worth asking because... well... my physical body changed more than just my heair length and style, so... maybe something changed with you or... yeah, anyway!" He glances away for a second, then back to Danny again. "...So... it looks like... You're another one of us now," he says with a smirk.

Danny says, "Another of us? You aren't the only one?"

Robin shakes his head. "No! I'm actually part of an entire team of..." He holds up his hands for air quotes, "'Magical Girls'. there's another..." He glances upward with a frown before saying, "Three or four... maybe five of us? My roommate, two that are a bit younger than us... the maybes are my missing friend, Sakura Shade, and... maybe a girl that I witnessed get her powers, but... She's from this world but not from here, so I don't think she stuck around in the country..."

Danny says, "Maybe five of us? So we might be able to work as a team if we have to? ...I don't think I'd be that useful though. I'm sure YOU have taken on much bigger fish than I have.""

Robin frowns at the way that's put. "So? I've been through a lot of fights, yes, but who's to say you can't be of help? That's part of what this is... We can help each other, including in training, including as working as a team. From what you said, you've been working mostly alone up until now. Do you really want to keep doing that?"

Danny shakes her head. "Well no...I just don't think I can measure up. You have a point about training though."

Robin smiles, first a smirk, but then it turns a bit more genuine, a bit more warm. "So... are you in, then?"

Robin holds out a hand as an invitation.

Danny nods in agreement, blushing yet again and looking away while she takes Robin's hand. "Of course...it's not like I wouldn't try to help you."

Robin pumps the hand once vigorously. "Right! Then we're joined by...." He then frowns. "Do you... have a different name you use when you look like this? Like... how I'm Steel Valkyrie Strimla?

Danny says, "...I think it's that I'm Lightning Valkyrie Lysa...?"

Robin's head tilts, his eyes furrowing slightly. "....Another Valkyrie..."

Danny says, "...that's right, you didn't know for sure if the others were, so of course they didn't give you valkyrie names..."

Robin shakes his head. "No... I'm pretty sure they're not related to us... in a power kind of way. Just you, me, and Korrine have Valkyrie in our titles... everyone else is definitely different... but with three Valkyries... I think this might not be a coincidence."

Danny says, "...maybe not...but not much we can do but stay alert, right?"

Robin nods. "Right. Unless Smink and Korrine's fox aren't telling us something... but then again, I don't have an animal, myself, so..." He sighs. "Ehhh.... why don't we go get something to eat?"
