| Summary: Robin, Rainbow Dash, and Roma happen upon each other, and Roma is aghast that the other two haven't seen some classic movies!    |
Roma is wandering the area. Looking at a holo screen with a map on it. And she hrms a bit. "Uh..this map is wrong." she mutters as she dismisses the holo screen. Rainbow_Dash's shadow appears on the pavement in front of Roma, as the blue pegasus herself hoovers just behind her. "Are ya lost?" she asks, looking at the weird device in her hands, curiously. Robin wanders through the center of town. He's realized that, far too often, he's been travelling from angles that leave most signs and whatnot difficult to read... So for once, he's actually just walking through the city to see what everything looks like from street level. It also helps that he no longer is standing out like a sore thumb quite so much. Still, with his red hair, no fewer than a dozen people have asked him if he's Irish today. This has confused him to no end, especially when no one has asked him this before. Roma hmms and looks at Dash, "Oh..no really. Just exploring the city. I haven't done it yet since I got here. Mostly I been staying out on my shipbody in the ocean. So, figured I should see the place I'm living now..also.." and she gets a sheepish look on her face, "...Looking for a apartment." Rainbow_Dash says, "Oh, yeah, I guess it's good to find a place that...uh...isn't your own self," she muses, "I know there's some spots over in Townsville, my friend Jenny was talking about that." Robin notices, of course, Rainbow Dash talking to someone. She's Rainbow Dash! He starts to wave, then frowns slightly, suddenly unsure if 'Robin' knows the pegasus, or if 'Strimla' does. Still, the mention of apartments makes him wince slightly, seeing as he's still bumming a couch off the Teen Titans. Roma grins, "Trust me Dash, I know it's confusing. But it's nice I'm not the only one. There's Mitsuo, and her sister the Falcon. Even though they're both...scary." she says with a shiver. Rainbow_Dash says, "Heheh, well, lots of people seem scary at first, till ya get to know 'em," she's been through that, "Plus, you're a...." she lowers her voice..."Living battke ship, right? I'm sure some people would find that scray, but you're cool, so, no worries, right?" Robin finds himself commenting in. "Living battle ship?" He pauses a half beat before adding, "What... exactly is a battleship?" After another breif pause he finally adds, "Oh, uh, hey, Ranbow Dash." Rainbow_Dash says, "Hey there, Robin," she smies, still hovering in place,"Oh! This is Roma, Roma Robin, Robin Roma." Roma grins, "Not so much a living battleship. I'm a AI sentience that assumed that form." and she looks at Robin and blinks a bit, "Right, different world." and she forms a holo of the Littorio Class Battleship, "This is a Battleship..Italian make, each nation has their own designs." Rainbow_Dash adds to Robin, "Big boat with big weapons." Robin nods to Roma. "Hello, Roma, nice to meet you..." He then peers at the battleship, a completely lost look on his face as nearly everything Roma says goes over his head. "Um... right," he manages to get out, though Rainbow Dash's explanation seems to be more clear to him. "Ooooh! Okay, so then..." He looks at the ship for a moment, then points out the guns. "So those are just... big cannons, then?" Yeah, he's really not from a modern world. Roma nods, "Yes...15 inch cannons. They can fire either high explosive or Armor piercing. In my case..energy beams also. I'm a highly advanced system." she says with a shrug. "And likewise Robin." she says with a grin as she kills the holo screen. And she looks at Dash, "And you say Townsville?" she asks with a hmm as she logs that. Rainbow_Dash adds, "Big Boomsticks," to Robin, she then looks to Roma; "Yeah, Townsvilla arms, Jenny shares a place there with her friend Blossom, never met her but I hear she's nice." Robin nods slightly to Roma, then winces slightly. "Expensive on a waitor's budget, though... And my employer is... really odd about raises." He looks to Rainbow Dash and looks slightly upward, now considering the possibility in going into this with a roommate. Rainbow_Dash is lucky, the ponies have anice magically built home out in the forest. Thank you Twilight Sparkle! Roma hmms, "I have some money saved up. Before I decided to settle here I did some security work." shrugs and gets a sheepish look, "Some people hauling cargo liked having a battleship as a detterent against pirates." and yeah, a fully armed Battleship is one helluva roadblock. Rainbow_Dash says, "You could probably book cruises too, right? :)" Roma blinks a bit, "That's a idea. I can alter my ship body to work." she hmms as she begins to think it over, "Also when I passed through Italy they were wanting to 'tour' the ship. Since my chosen form is from there." Oh god..Rainbow you gave her ideas.. Robin deadpans, "Lucky you. I imagine that pays more than waiting tables. But... yeah. I've had enough experience with pirates... Booked passage with what turned out to be pirates once... I think. At least, they had ties with pirates." Rainbow_Dash says, "Uh, so....maybe Roma here could use a hand on her ship-shape-self?" she laughs at her own word-play, "You could help with her cruising helping people stuff...." Roma hmms, "Didn't encounter any pirates..well, I don't think. There were some guys in a few motorboats, but they didn't have a parrot or cutlasses. And the first one didn't say 'Arrr'." Well, they did but it was more like 'ARRGH'. "....They ran when they saw my guns leveled at them." Oh Roma, you poor innocent soul. Roma also blinks at Dash's wordplay, "...I..I never had a crew." she says softly. Robin sweatdrops at that glancing away slightly. "Ehhhhh, I'm not so sure I want to leave the city... interesting stuff happens here a lot, you know?" He doesn't want to insult Roma, but he does genuinely want to be in this city! Rainbow_Dash pffts at Robin, "Hey, it's not like she's gone all the time or anything," she shakes her head, "Heck, lotsa ponies would be all stoked for that kinda job. Roma hmms, "It's a idea to consider. I mean, they will be safe if I do do luxury cruises." she shrugs, "I have defense shields and the like." she says with a shrug. Rainbow_Dash says, "Of course, it'd totally work," she grins, crossing her forleags." Robin nods. "It does sound like an okay job, I just... well, I'm an adventurer. From what I've seen NeoTokyo seems to be where all the action is..." He then looks between the two. "Well, yeah,w hy wouldn't it work?" Of course, he comes from a world where most ships are armed cargo/passenger transports. Roma hmms, "Well, I dunno. It might. I mean people tour other ships. The Misaka is on display, along with other ships. And who wouldn't want to go on a cruise on a battleship." she says in a matter of fact tone. Rainbow_Dash says, "Totally! It's a win-win, right? Maybe you could even gather up a whole crew? That'd be awesome!" Robin tilts his head, then nods. "Well, yeah. If you're gonna cater to people, you'd need more than just yourself, wouldn't you? Cooks, maids, uh... okay, so the ship I was on, I had to do work and it was less the ship running itself, I don't actually know what you'd need." Roma hmms a bit as she forms a holo screen, "Yeah..I'd need maids..cooks..cleaning crews. All of that. Even a engineer..but I'd need one with degress in alien technology." she says with a hmm and she tilts her head a bit. Rainbow_Dash says, "ya got me there. that's way out of my zone," she laughs, "Though I'm betting Mitsuo might know somebody...and there is Jenny....." Robin nods along with maids, cooks, and cleaning crew... then looks lost again with 'engineers for alien technology.' "Um, sure, yeah, Mitsuo and Jenny." Why no, he has no clue who Rainbow Dash is talking about. He's just agreeing since he's lost. Roma hmms, "Mitsuo and I haven't talked..save for her..warning me to behave. The Fleet of Fog, in my world were not..liked. As in at all." she says with a grimace. Rainbow_Dash says, "People seems pretty open-minded around here...so...it'd be a nice fresh start for you, right?" Roma nods, "I agree. Most..don't know what I am or what my people have done." she sighs a bit and shakes it off. "...It wasn't good, trust me." Rainbow_Dash says, "New world, new people new perceptions, right?" Robin frowns at that, but adds, "Hey, if you're not happy about it either and want a new start... then this is the right place to be!" Roma nods, "I might do that. And yes Dash, new world. I keep forgetting that. Robin smirks slightly. "Good! Glad to see people make a better life for themselves!" Rainbow_Dash nods to Robin, "Yeah, totally, who gets the chance for a fresh start? Roma nods, "Not many." she says with a hmm. Rainbow_Dash says, "We're pretty forgiving back home, but even back there, a fresh start kind of had to be earned...:)" Robin claps his hands behind his head. "Right! I can't tell you how much my life started to finally feel like I was going the right direction when I started adventuring! Being a family farmhand really wasn't for me. I got lucky." Rainbow_Dash says, "hah! You should meet A.J.! :)" Roma hmms, "A.J.?" she asks as she looks between the two. And yes, she's looking between the two and hmming a bit. Rainbow_Dash says, "Applejack, she's one of my best friends; farm Pony who loves adventure! She's not here though," :/" Robin shrugs to Roma, then nods to Rainbow Dash. "Yeah, I guessed she'd be a farmer... Not sure how she has time to adventure while keeping to a farm, though. I went all over the world in my adventures." He then glances back at Roma with a raised eyebrow. "What?" Rainbow_Dash says, "You'd be surprised," she grins, "besides, I'm not really sure how much she actually sleeps...." Roma says, "Oh..nothing, was just thinking." and she shrugs, "I been told I get a little scatterbrained." she says with a chukcle." Robin shrugs to Rainbow Dash. "Well, if it's like NeoTokyo, I guess you could farm and have adventures at the same time... With the trains, everything feels so close together here." He then gives Roma a side glance. "Forgive me for getting a bit nervous when someone I just met keeps looking at me and saying 'hmmm'." Rainbow_Dash says, "Well, it's not like she doesn't have family," she sighs, "I know I'm being selfish and I have other friends here, but I'd sure like to see that pony again." Roma nods, "I know what you mean Dash, I miss my sisters and some others I knew in my world." she says with a sigh, "Of course if they come here, I'd have to corral them to make sure all heck doesn't break loose." Robin frowns slightly. "I guess I wish I had friends that close... But it was really more like a business partnership with my adventuring companions." Robin glances upward slightly. "But they did like me enough to pay for two ressurection spells on me." Rainbow_Dash grins, "My freinds are really well behaved, I'm probably the one who's most likely to be a problem," she laughs. Roma hmms, "My sisters, well, they're interesting. Litt was a bookworm, with this places connection to other universes she'd be locked in the library. Venteno, she was a stickler for rules, so she'd be complaining about how chaotic this place can be. Impero...uh..yeah, she'd be in the middle of the craziness." and she shrugs, "I'm more the easy going type. And I love classic movies..give me a Bogart movie marathon and I'm happy. Oh..and some pizza." Rainbow_Dash says, "What's a Bogart.....?" Robin raises an eyebrow. "Isn't another word for a ghost?" And with those words Roma's systems seem to freeze up and she slowly turns to look at Dash and Roma with wide eyes, and she twitches "Humphrey Bogart, a actor from the 1940's. His movies Casblanca, the Maltese Falcon, and the Big Sleep are classed as legendary in the film industry. He personified the HArd Boiled Noir subtype of movies and tv." Robin nods slowly to Roma, still looking lost. Rainbow_Dash says, "Oh! Movie star, got it!" she grins, "Sounds pretty cool," she laughs, "Still a lot to learn about stuff here." Robin sighs and hangs his head. "You and me both." Roma looks at Robin and goes to pat his shoulder, "You poor deprived soul..we'll fix this." she says in a solemn tone. And she nods to Dash. "Yes, one from a long time ago but still considered a screen icon, like John Wayne, Carey Grant, Marlon Brando and ones like that. The movies may be old, but people still watch them and enjoy them. And I happen to have a weakness for those.." Rainbow_Dash says, "I have a friend back home who loves old movie and detective novels, even saved my butt once when I was acuused of cheating." Roma looks at Dash, "Who's that? If they're here I'd like the meet them." she says with a grin. Rainbow_Dash says, "That's Rarity," she smiles a little, "Another friend who isn't here...somepony I really miss a lot..." Robin nods to Roma. "Heck yeah, I'll look forward to it! I'm experiencing new things left and right now! I just tried video games yesterday." Roma looks at Robin and blinks and then at Dash, "And I thought I WAS bad. I mean, I haven't been around humans..or ponies till now." and she shakes her head, "...Right, movie night on my ship. I supply the movies and drinks, you get the pizza and jelly beans." Rainbow_Dash says, "Sounds like a plan!" Robin tilts his head. "Jelly beans? Uhhhh..." He looks to Rainbow Dash. "Um, you handle that one." At least he's come across pizza. "Hey, I'm from a world with a lot, uh, lower technology, so give me a break, okay?" Rainbow_Dash says, "Jelly beans are chewy bean-shaped candy that comes in all flavors." Roma looks at Robin again, and sighs, "Right..we're SO helping you learn about the finer things in snack food here." she says with a shake of her head and she gives a sage nod. Rainbow_Dash laughs, "You totally got to meet Pinkie Pie, she's snack-food queen! Robin glances left, then right. "Uhhh... I'm pretty familiar with Chinese and street vendor food?" Roma sighs at Robin, "What about Teriakyi Beef Jerky? Reese's pieces? M&M's?" she asks as she leans in to peer at Robin. Robin taps his right hand on his leg, a habit from when he regularly carried a mace. "Well, jerky was a thing in my world... the other two, never heard of 'em." By now, he's starting to avoid eye contact, glancing away with even a light blush as he's getting embarassed at all this attention on him for being ignorant. Rainbow_Dash hehs and patpats Robin, "Don't get so self concious, dude, I'm clueless about a lot of stuff too." Roma grins and goes to patpats Robin's head, "Don't worry. I'm worse. My experiences are just as bad. I blame my youngest sister Imperio, she had a habit of sneaking ashore and bringing trinkets back. So we're both learning a lot." she says with a playful wink as she goes to adjust her glasses. Rainbow_Dash says, "It's a new place for all of us." :)" Robin looks away again, the patting, at least on his head, not really doing much to make him feel much better. "Um, yeah, anways... I'm gonna go get some sleep tonight, at any rate. Uhhh... I don't have one of those phone things, so when you get your plans... find me at the Nekohanten after the lunch rush." Roma hmms, "Gimme some time on that and I can get you one." Robin frowns at that. "I don't want handouts... Anyway, goodnight, I'll see you two later!" Rainbow_Dash says, "take care!" | |
