How are you all doing?

Postby DarkWolff » Fri Sep 26, 2025 3:34 pm

I took an extended break from the forums for a while. I see I'm not the only one. I figured I'd come on here and see how you are all doing. It doesn't seem like there's been any news of a new game or anything. Hopefully we'll eventually see a modern re-imagining of the series in the future.

So, is anyone still around and how have you been?

Hello DarkWolff!
Thank you for this check-in, glad I caught it so recently too

I was a regular on this forum when I was studying animation in College- now I'm studying Animation at Uni and Atmosfear has continued to be a base of so much inspiration. I hope to realise some of the bigger projects one day

You're right that there haven't been many updates from the creators- after the flop of the App and the celebration of the 30th anniversary, that's been about it since 2021

I remember getting in touch with Brett Clements himself and learning more about the legal troubles that divided the cowboys. Very eye opening to how far the dudes in suits will go to earn a quick buck off someone's handiwork. A shame to find out, but the truth all the same. Brett definitely deserved better, but he's still working on plenty of stuff

I also remember the release of BonsaiTreehouse's unofficial sourcebook- that was significant in our community due to a cancelled project being built from the ground up by a passionate fanbase. All the credit in the world to that

So yeah- that's me, that's my thoughts on the games and the creators, and what we've achieved as a fanbase in half a decade

Being an Atmosfear fan involves a ton of patience huh?
I tried showing my mates Khufu last year and they tore the game apart for valid reasons
It makes me wanna have my own go at it, but like I say, there's LOTS in the pipeline for me
I hope to get back to work on my Atmosfear RPG someday soon, but the time will find me

Hope you've been good too DarkWolff, and anybody reading this
It may be quiet, but we're very much undead 8-)

Peace!

Hey Nons! That's awesome you are studying animation. Do you have a preferred medium? Yes, the app definitely flopped. The DVD version of the game was much better. I don't think the app is even available anymore. At least it wasn't when I last checked on Android.

Ya, Bonsai's sourcebook is amazing. They should really just offer him some cash and make it the official sourcebook. The Lore book that came with the 30th was OK, but it really seemed like the Gatekeeper was a whiney brat. I like to see it as the spirit of the Gatekeeper possessed that poor soul. Even still, I'd like to see a sequel. I remember Clements being offered a paltry sum to write the lore book too; he was not happy!

Oh yeah. being a fan definitely requires patience. I'm still hoping Restoration Games gets a bid for the series approved and modernizes it. They were one week too late the last time they tried (when the App version came about). It's been long enough that I think they could make an impact again. They've successfully reimagined a lot of older games.

As for me? I'm doing fine. I was patrolling the backwoods of The Other Side for quite a while. I'm back now though and hoping to find some fresh souls. I also feel like I might want to start creating music again. It's been a long while but I think I need to scratch that itch for a little bit to get it outta my system (prob just 1 - 2 songs). That and during the cooler months I practice woodworking in my garage. I had even got commissioned for job before, although it's just a hobby for me.

Anyway, I'm glad you responded so fast. I half-expected the post would sit here for a while.
