How Did You Get Here?! | ||
---|---|---|
Summary: Erza is trying to figure out just what happened to her, and is investigating in several ways. |
As Ponset gazes up at the tower; who should come into view but..of all things, a quite smell elegant pink and yellow pegasus! The flying pony arcs down in a wide circle, apparently heading to one of the markets below. She alights gracefully and as far away from any crowd as she can manage...she then checks her saddle style bags and pulls out a small list..."Hmm......" Ponset sits a bit more upright as she spots the flying pony. Finally! Something interesting! She watches Fluttershy for a moment before hopping down effortlessly from the ten foot high overhang. With a slightly raised eyebrow and her hands still behind her head, she walks on up to the pastel pony. "Hey. I'm kinda new here, so I'm not used to everything in this place? You're quite possibly the most interesting thing I've seen since I've gotten to this city!" The way she says it, it seems she's meaning that as a compliment. Fluttershy meeps as she's suddenly approached by a new girl, but...having been here for a bit, she's beginning to get used to it. "Um..oh...thank you...I think..." she says very quietly, "Um...hello there," she grabs a bit of composure, "I'm Fluttershy. Welcome to the City," she greets, her large blue eyes regarding Ponset. 'You..just arrived then? Ponset nods and glances off to the east. "Yup. Just got into this place yesterday," she says in a bit of a bored manner, but soon she looks back to Fluttershy. "Name's Ponset. Thanks!" She then frowns slightly quietness. "Um... if I'm bothering you, then don't mind me." Fluttershy says, "Oh, no...I'm sorry. It's just..the way I am. Um...shy..." she fidgets just a bit, "But that's okay..I'm trying to be a bit more out-going. So, where are you from? I hope you're managing okay here. It can be a little, um, difficult sometimes." Ponset glances around. "The only difficulty I'm having is boredom, frankly." She then shakes her head and moves her hands from behind her head finally. "I'm gonna assume this means nothing, but I'm from Gingertown originally, but I've lived the last couple of years in Toki Toki City." She keeps an eye on Fluttershy... just in case she does recognize those names. Hey, you never know, right? Fluttershy says, "I'm from Equestria...Ponyville. I don't think I've ever heard of those places..though if you're bored after finding yourself suddenly in a new place; you must be very brave. I was scared to death when I got here. Though, um, I did get pony-napped too. That didn't help. My friends are here as well..that makes it a lot better." Ponset frowns and scratches lightly at her cheek. "Nah. Ya gotta be scared to be brave. I've not seen anything remotely scary." She does blink look just a little bit worried - and maybe excited? - when she hears about a kidnapping attempt right when Fluttershy first arrived. "Wow! Your arrival sounds way more exciting than mine! Mine was like... a job orientation." She then winces slightly, for some reason. Fluttershy tilts her head curiously and blinks, "I really don't like being scared...and being Pony-napped was super-scary," she shudders just a bit. "My friends are really much braver...I'm much better at, um, hiding under the bed," she blushes just a little. Ponset frowns at hearing that Fluttershy is, more or less, a coward. She shrugs, though. "Well, not everyone can be the hero, of course. The multiverse needs every kind, right?" She then blinks as she tries to imagine the pegasus fitting under a bed, and then again as she tries to tie the non-humanoid form with having a bed. Erza descends from the skies on blank wings, clad in shiny black metal that leaves exposed her midriff and thighs. As she approaches, she Augusta's her flight to land near Fluttershy. Fluttershy hmms? and looks up, 'Oh, good evening Erza," she smiles, "This lady here is Ponset...like you, she's just arrived. Ponset, this is my friend Erza." She makes proper introductions, being a very polite pony after all. Ponset blinks and watches as Erza lands. She grins a bit too wide as she's introduced. . o O ( Finally! Someone who looks like a fighter in this city! Funny, I don't sense anything from her, though. ) "Heya!" she says, much less formally and polite than Fluttershy, but still quite friendly sounding. Erza nods to Ponset, "a pleasure. Where did you arrive and what do you remember about the moment?" being a magic user, Erza would show rather strongly to magic based detection. Fluttershy is quiet as the two humen-types get aquainted, she just listens for the moment. Ponset blinks at the very direct question, then glances around slightly nervously. "Um, uh, well..." She pauses a moment, then says, "I showed up out in the Badlands. It was, uh, a flash of white light." Somehow, she doesn't sound very convincing. Erza peers closely at Ponset, "badlands? Are you sure the light was white and not just extremely bright?" she looks to Fluttershy, " where are the badlands?" Fluttershy says, "I've never been there, but I've heard of them, it's a scary place...I really don't know how to get there, though. Rainbow dash might know, she does a lot of exploring." Ponset looks up, putting a finger to her cheek. "Well, no, now that I think about it, I'm not so sure it wasn't just extremely bright." She does seem legitimately considering this now, despite her apparent uncertainty of what happened when she arrived. As the other two discuss between them where the Badlands are, she points vaguely to the east-northeast. Erza nods her head at the answers, " anything else unusual?" Fluttershy says, "I just sort of appeared; I really don't recall much myself...of course bag was popped over me the second I got here...O.o" Fluttershy says, "And I was actually searching for Twilight Sparkle......" Ponset nods with a slight frown at Fluttershy. "Yeah, I can totally get why that would be the dominating thing in your memory if that happened." She then slowly looks towards Erza again. "Anything else... uhhhh.... nnnno?" she says somewhat unconvincingly. "Just a flash of light and... there I was!" Erza lets out long sigh as she studies Ponset. Erza is covered in a golden glow, the black winged armor changing to silver plate with a skirt on the bottom and exposed biceps Fluttershy says, "Um...is there...something bothering you, Erza? You seem a bit unconvinced......" Ponset smiles as innocently as she can to Erza. "What?" She then blinks and suddenly takes to a fighting stance as Erza suddenly starts glowing, and her clothing transforming! She doesn't look the slightest bit intimidated, but then glances over at Fluttershy. Looking back to Erza again, she says, "If you're looking for a fight, we're not doing it here." Well... she was quick to jump to that. Fluttershy suddenly jumps in between them! "No! No fighting! Stop it right now!" she demands, yes, the demure pony can put her hoof down when she needs to. There's something in her eyes as well that's not going to take 'no' for an answer. Erza raises both hands in front of her, open lmspalms facing out and her expression doesn't change, " this is my normal armor. It's more comfortable. Ponset glances between Fluttershy and Erza, then after another moment, stands more normally, stuffing her hands into pockets that are in her skirt. "Right. Sorry. No fighting. Cool." She... actually sounds dissapointed. On the other hand, she isn't trying to instigate any further, either. Fluttershy puff sighs, "Thank you," she says, her voice soft again. She already had to diffuse Erza when she arrived; she wonders if all humans are so quick on the trigger. She steps back, "Sorry about that." Erza says, "good reflexes can keep you safe. But cool head keep you from trouble." Ponset shrugs idly to Fluttershy's thanks, not making eye contact at this point. "Don't worry about it, Flutter." She then looks down the street at Erza's admonishment. "Yeah, yeah. I've not seen trouble yet here." Fluttershy says, "You two are both girls of action...I bet you'll really get along well." Erza nods sharply, " its good tip find people you can work together with. Are you a wizard, Ponset? Fluttershy says, "I should introduce you to my friend Rainbow Dash; she's an adventurer-fighter too...she's a real scrapper." She giggles softly, "She also a Pegasus; we're practically sisters." Ponset grins and nods at being called a girl of action. She tilts her head with a raised eyebrow at being called a wizard, though. "Wizard? Nah, I'm just a... martial artist." She glances away slightly, pondering if she's really going to be able to work with the person she's been told is her partner. She then shrugs and looks back to Fluttershy. "Oh? A scrapper, eh? Maybe it'll be fun! I've not sparred with a pegasus before!" Erza nods her head to Ponset, "hand to hand, then. I would like to meet Rainbow Dash, does she stay away a lot?" Fluttershy says, "Um...not really...she likes sleeping a lot when she's not zooming around the city." Ponset grins and nods to Erza. "Usually," is all she says in a mischeivous tone. She nods to Fluttershy. "Well, yeah. Any good fighter knows the value of a good night's sleep! And food. Lots of food." She nods sagely. Erza says, "both are very important! As well as challenging yourself." Fluttershy says, "Oh my, yes; she does that a lot. of course sometimes she tries to hard to, um...project herself as great; when she really already is." Ponset glances away again at the mention of challenging oneself. "I'm wondering if that'll happen here," she mumbles under her breath. She glances back up to Fluttershy again and raises an eyebrow. "Nothing wrong with bragging, right?" Erza crosses her arms in front of her, " confidence is good, but overcinfidence is dangerous. Fluttershy says, "There've been times when..well..she's gotten a little carried away with it...but it's just who she is and we love her," she smiles." Ponset takes Erza's comment as being directed at Rainbow Dash though Fluttershy. "Yeah, no one's invincible. Except maybe gods." She glances away again. "Always gonna be someone stronger out there. Gotta just be ready for it." Fluttershy thinks about her special friend. Well, powerful as Discord is, he's not unstoppable. BUT a good display of kindness and understanding has kept him on a better path. "Well, fighting isn't always the answer; sometimes it takes, um, a gentler touch." Erza almost smiles, "Natsu and Rainbow Dash sound alike. He always doves problems with his fire Ponset looks actually confused by Fluttershy's affirmation. She then shrugs, saying nothing about it. "Gentle... heh. Yeah, they'll call on someone other than me if that's the case," she says as she leans against a light post and looks to the sky. There's just a slight look of yearning, but hesitance. Fluttershy says, "Well....yes...sometimes there's no choice..." she thinks on the time she and her friends have had to take matters into that direction. "I, um, try and avoid...you know...fighting kinds of things....unless we really really have to." Erza says, "I have some things i was going to do before the night is over. Of either of you think of anything else about when you arrived, tell me." Fluttershy says, "Oh, well, take care Ezra~" Ponset shrugs to Fluttershy. "Right. If you can avoid it and stuff..." She then nods to Erza. "Oh, uh, yeah! I'll make sure to let you know if I remember anything else." >.> Erza shifts back to her winged black armor and lifts into the sky. Fluttershy says, "Poor Erza really misses her home and friends....." Ponset watches Erza fly up, then looks over to Fluttershy as she speaks. "Huh. Funny. I was thinking of this as the opposite. A place to make new friends." She then looks up into the sky in the general direction Erza flew off to. "But yeah, I totally can get that." Fluttershy says, "I'm spoiled...I have so many of my freinds here, it..makes being homesick a lot easier...but this place really is a challenege and yes, there's planty of opportunities to make new friends." She nods." Ponset shrugs. "I didn't have a whole lot of friends back in Gingertown. I was kinda shy there, myself, if you can beleive it. And I was too busy in Toki Toki City to really make that many friends. Here... things are slower. I've only been here one day, sure, but I can already tell." She finally looks back to Fluttershy and shrugs. "I guess I just don't have the problems most people here do?" Fluttershy says, "I'm not sure...there are quite a few people here who're totally happy and relaxed being here..so there's all kinds...and don't worry about it being slow...thing happen here all the time. Um, a really good place to meet people here too, is over at the Usual Restaurant," she gestures with a hoof, "I go in there a bit here and there...I think it helps me get used to not being such a scardy pony; I figure if I can go in there, I can be brave about a lot." Ponset looks over to the restaurant with a bit more interest. "Oooh, it's an interesting place, then? Nice," she says, then looks back to Fluttershy with a grin. She can't help it! When Fluttershy says it's a place that she feels brave when she's there, it makes Ponset want to go in even more! Fluttershy says, "There was a scary skeleton man there once...I...um...locked myself in the Little mare's room and took me awhile to get talked out...." Ponset blinks at that. "Skeleton? Woah! Like, nothing but bones? How does that even... Well, I guess this place is stranger than I thought!" Fluttershy says, "It is pretty odd...there's a Hyena-man...and...um...A Batman...and, well, all sorts here. A demon who's scary but actually quite nice..." she thinks, "There are some really strange people here." says the pastel yellow talking pegasus." Ponset nods a bit absently at the descriptions of Hyena and Bat people. In her home world, nearly a fifth of the population is made of animal people. She raises an eyebrow slightly at the mention of a demon, but shrugs that off. She's barely met any demons before coming here, who's do say they're all as bad as the ones she's met? "Hey, strange people make for interesting people, right? I say the more variety, the better!" Fluttershy says, "Well, yes, if everyone was the same...it'd be, um...so mundane...as a matter of fact, one time my friends and I were trapped by a Pony who was manipulating other ponies and they all became the same as it each other; it was really...awful...." Erza descends from the sky, wearing her black winged armor. She lands nearby, in front of Ponset and far enough away that her wings won't touch the martial artist. Ponset is walking towards the east, looking perhaps like she's about to duck into an alleyway when Erza drops down in front of her again. "Oh! Jeeze, I guess I should look up more here than I thought, huh?" Erza says, "you don't normally? Do you have wizards and other flyers where you're from?" Ponset seems to consider how to answer that question. "I managed to get into the bad habit just here, it seems." She crosses her arms in front of her chest with a frown, then she shrugs. "I'm used to not-wizards. I can sense them. But you're right, I can't sense robots either, and that's been a problem I've had to deal with." Erza looks off to the spirit gate for a moment, "Strange and familiar," she looks back towards Ponset, "have you figures out the gates yet? Ponset blinks and tilts her head. "Gates? You mean like... the wormhole things? Nah. I was told to look out for them, that's about it. I've been here for just a day, ya know?" Erza shifts back to her silver plate armor, then points with one edgauntleted hand to the shrine in the center, "Those. I found two others." Ponset blinks and looks over at the small shrine. "Oh... No, I didn't even notice those little things." She steps over towards it and looks at it more closely. "Oh... now I can start to feel something... odd. But it's not like anything I've felt before, so... no, no clue." She frowns and looks around again. "You think it's some sort of seal or something?" Erza nods, "They contain magical power. I have an idea... Rainbow_Dash shoots in low over the street, heading for the Usual, one of her usual hangouts, she zips down low; not even bothering to land, she just hoovers a few feet above the ground; wings flapping steadily. Ponset shakes her head. "They feel old. Like they've been there the whole time. I don't think we should mess with 'em." This definitely feels like the kind of thing that her job would not want her to touch! Too much interferance! She blinks as, now paying more attention to 'up', she notices the incoming pegasus. "Huh. You think that's the one Fluttershy mentioned?" Erza lifts her head at the sound of wings, raising one hand, "You shouldn't fly so low." turning to Ponset, she says, "maybe. Rainbow Dash?" Rainbow_Dash says, "Huh? Yeah..I'm Rainbow Dash, who's asking?" she grins a bit cockily, "What'cha got there?" she asks, moving in a bit closer, still just hovering in the air? Some kinda magical thingie?" Ponset blinks and looks at Rainbow Dash as she comes right up to them. "Just call me Ponset." She leaves Erza to introduce herself. "We were talking to your friend Fluttershy earlier, she mentioned you." She then glances at Erza again. "Really, though, I say leave that thing alone." Erza lets out a soft sigh, corsses her arms in front of her, and lifts slightly into the air as she brings her arms out to the sides and arches her back. the silver plate armor is suddenly replaced with a tribal robe of dark yellow trimmed with white fur along the neckline, "Please land before you hurt someone. And yes, this shrine, "she gestures to the Spirit gate of Soul with the ornate broadsword that suddenly appers in her hand. Rainbow_Dash pffs, "Like I'm gonna hurt someone," she rolls her eyes, "I'm a trained professional, ya know," she says a bit agast, crossing her forelegs. "So that's a magic shrine? Sweet! What does it do?? Somethin' cool, right Ponset blinks at the clothing change. "Damn. That clothing change thing really is a neat trick!" She then sighs and steps away from the shrine to lean against a street lamp as the other two seem insistant on focussing on the shrine. Erza lifts the broadsword in front of her, and a gust lifts the edges of her vest, which is a dark green under the yellow overcoat. A building pressure centers over Rainbow Dash, focusing into a downdraft, "I don't know yet, but it is probably connected to the barriers between universes. Rainbow_Dash akks, "Hey! What the heck are ya doin'?" she blinks, she kicks some thrust into her wings and is gone from the spot in a rainbow blur, her vermillion her vermillion eyes narrowed, front legs crossed. "You really shouldn't mess with things like that," she meant the wind pressure. She's gotten her fair share of lumps latley from such things. Of course, it might sound like she means the shrine. Erza sighs again, "Baka, An enemy would use fiercer gusts to blow you into someone else. In the air, you're more vulnerable to wind magic. Ponset frowns as she recalls what Caracol had said about the wormholes and such. "No, really. Don't mess with them. Maybe they actually keep it from getting worse? I really, really get a bad feeling from the thought of doing anything with these." Rainbow_Dash grrs, "Hey! who ya callin' Baka...um...Baka!" she has no idea what that means, but it sure didn't sound good. Pfft. Well, go ahead, get yourself sucked into another dimension or something," she sticks her tounge out at Erza and heads back towards the usual where she was heading before. "Just so happens I know somepony who knows all about that kinda stuff...but...suit yourself." Erza nods her head to Ponset, "That would confirm my thoughts. I was going to speak with him as soon as I confirmed a theory. " Ponset blinks and looks between the two, then puts a hand up to her head. "Going to speak with who, Erza?" She then turns back to Rainbow Dash again. "Oh, that'd be... good?" Really, the poor red-head is just looking more and more confused. Erza shifts back to her normal suit of armor, having convinced the pegasus to at least not fly in the middle of the street for now, "I believe she means Skeeve. Erza says, "I'm going to check on something. I'll be back." Ponset blinks, clearly not recognizing the name. "Okay... then..." Erza walks south, looking around herself as she goes. Erza nods to herself as she returns from the north, then turns to head east as she passes by Ponset. Ponset isn't quite where Erza left her, instead up on a ledge on a building over its entranceway, laying on her back while looking at the sky with her hands behind her head. Erza returns from the west, a very slight smile lifting the corners of her lips as she approaches the Spirit Gate of the Soul, "Like lacrima." Ponset rolls over and pokes her head over the ledge. "Lacrima? Wuzzat?" Erza says, "A magic focusing crystal. We use them to contain and direct magical energy. They can absorb powerful magic if properly attuned. They can also release the magic in destructive ways." Ponset blinks and nods slowly. "I... see." It's fairly clear that this is all going over her head, however. Erza frowns as she continues her thought, "And power spells that no-one should ever cast. I believe I understand what is happening... I need to know more beore i know why." Ponset sits up again, her legs dangling off the ledge. "Urrrg. Please tell me you're not gonna try to mess with these things!" She sighs as she drops down to the ground again, not even landing heavily. "You know what, fine. Do what you want with them, but if you make things more difficult around here, I'm gonna find you, you know that, right?" Erza says, "why would I do that? They're containing the effect." Erza says, "do you often poke artifacts when you could ask questions instead?" Ponset says, "Artifacts? No. I just don't know enough about you or these things, so gimme a break if I'm getting a bit worried about what could happen to these wormhole things, okay?" Erza says, "You would have a right to be worried if I were Natsu. Natsu is careless and uses action first all the time. Asking questions can be much more effective" Ponset pauses a moment, and then shrugs. "If you say so. I think I'm gonna head on home for the night, though. Good luck with your, uh, investigation." Erza says, "Also, I believe it would take a very powerful wizard to harm these gates in any way. They are very powerful and built to last. Thank you." Ponset offers a sloppy salute to Erza. "No problem!" The motion of the salute ends with two fingers on her forhead. And then... she just vanishes. | |
